Default Rangers & Multiple Preparations

Okay, the sticky mentions that Apply Poison will be kept up as much as possible, but are Ranger Heroes smart enough to switch to a different preparation when fighting poison immunes if I have a second one on their bar? Wouldn't mind having Ignite or Kindle on there as a backup for poison immunes...

Oh, and how are they at spreading conditions (ie, poison) these days (assuming you're not calling targets, natch)?

Not really sure, but if you want to spread Poison while using another Preparation, just use Poison Tip Signet instead. Not quite as efficient, but with high enough wildnerness survival it'll get the job done.

Unless you plan on brining posion+bleeding+ another degen, i wouldent bother, degen is the worst dps in the game.
(but by all means, Daze covered with poison+bleed is great, epedemic is great for aoe spread)

Your better off using a Fevered Dreams Mesmer to spread conditions and you get Dazed from it.

The short answer is NO. Heros are not smart enough to change preparations. They don't even seem to be able to change preparations to match the bow they are carring.

Spreading poison is to hard for heroes, they usually camp one target till it dies unless another target is called / they are pinned on something else.
If you dont mind saccing their elite skill for it you could use Incendiary Arrows to spread degen as it hits 3 targets. By no means optimal but suprisingly efficient if you want pressure and rupts.

A common hero bar I use:

Incendiary Arrows
Savage Shot
Distracting Shot
Apply Poison
Lightning Reflexes
Mend Touch (or antidode signet if secondary is used)
Point Blank Shot
Res Signet

You want 12 wilderness for the 3 second burning breakpoint on incendiary arrows. Works well with an illusion mesmer with Fevered dreams / Fragility too though that kinda requires a balth derv to fully abuse the daze aoe effect.
